Q: When should treatment start?
A: Certainly, orthodontic treatment can be successful at any age. The biological processes involved in tooth movement are the same in both adults and children. Q: What happens at my initial consultation?
A: When making the appointment for your initial consultation, we will refer you for some x-rays. These x-rays, and a complete physical examination of the mouth, enable the establishment of the correct individual treatment plan.
Q: Do I have to have teeth taken out?
A: The need for removal of teeth depends on the individual. Each case is studied and analysed carefully, taking various factors including the patient’s profile into consideration before a decision either way is made. Our goal is the creation of a beautiful smile while maximising facial aesthetics and providing the best possible function for each patient.
Q: How much does treatment cost?
A: The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient’s problem. If the patient is ready for treatment, we will discuss costs at the Initial Consultation appointment and issue you with a quote for the proposed treatment.
Q: Can I pay the braces off?
A: Yes. If you would like to choose this option, a deposit is required at the commencement of treatment and then a payment plan will be arranged for you. All treatment costs vary depending on the type of treatment and length of time. If you are in a health fund, we can give you an itemised quote to check on your entitlements.
Q: Do I need to see my dentist when I have braces on?
A: Yes, it is important for you to maintain your six monthly check-ups with your dentist throughout treatment.
